Chiang Rai Farm Stay
Day1: Arrival - Chiang Rai
Upon arrival at Chiang Rai Airport, transfer to the countryside and meet the local family who will be hosting you for the night. The homestay is simple, yet comfortable, and a pleasant place to spend a night.
Lunch will be served at the host family's home.
This afternoon, you’ll head to the fields to learn how to plant and harvest rice, an important cash crop and critical to the Thai diet. Learn the life cycle of the rice, from tilling the fields and planting rice to harvesting and processing.
After spending time in the fields, it’s time for a very interesting way to unwind – inside a chicken cage! This local homestay family has transformed chicken cages into a unique herbal sauna.
Next, you’ll learn all about Northern Thai (Lanna) cuisine with a cooking class. Your host will teach you about the ingredients, recipes and techniques for creating a tasty meal which you’ll eat together.
You’ll then prepare a local desert together before ending the evening with some free time to spend relaxing around the home stay.
Overnight at homestay
Day2: Chiang Rai-Departure
Enjoy breakfast at the homestay. A very unique experience today is giving alms to the horseback monks that live deep in a forest temple. (If it’s raining, the monks might not collect alms due to the difficulty of travel from their temple.)
