Baba Eco Lodge Phang Nga

Phang Nga
Overview
A tranquil haven on the idyllic island of Ko Phra Tong, this eco-resort effortlessly combines refined luxury with meaningful ethical choices in design and layout. This allows for the utmost comfort while blending seamlessly into the natural environment.

Why we like it...

Baba Eco Lodge is pretty much the closest you can come to making your Robinson Crusoe dreams come true without heading to some seriously remote islands such as the Mergui Archipelago. Their focus on sustainability gives the property a rustic charm, but this does not detract from the high levels of service on offer.

Luxury meets serene simplicity at this tropical ecolodge located on Ko Phra Thong Island in southwest Thailand. The resort is situated along a 7.5 mile stretch of pristine white sand – a tranquil haven in which to relax, kick back, and soak up the sun.

Guests can choose from 27 traditionally designed villas dotted along the unspoiled shoreline. Exquisitely crafted to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, these villas offer the perfect space to appreciate the area’s diversity. The villas range from compact, romantic getaways for couples to larger units for families, yet all come with private gardens and raised wooden decks from which to admire the views. Choose to be immersed within the jungle canopy or opt for a beachside villa with views of the Andaman Sea.

All villas are naturally ventilated, with no air conditioning, while water is heated from solar panels and bamboo is used instead of plastic. These are part of the resort’s broad eco manifesto.

The island of Ko Phra Thong offers serious castaway vibes – less than 5% of the island has been developed, leaving an area teeming with wildlife to explore, from savannah land to mangrove swamps, all right on the resort’s doorstep.

The resort understands the calming nature of its surroundings and offers a range of wellness activities to complement the feeling of relaxation. Daily meditation and yoga practice are available, as well as a selection of treatments, including scrubs, massages, and wraps.

Besides rejuvenating relaxation, there are a variety of other experiences to enjoy, from getting out to sea with some snorkelling or fishing trips to cultural activities such as ceramic workshops and cooking classes.
