Itinerary

Day 1 Village Welcome & Traditional Crafts

Includes Dinner

Pick up from Chiang Mai City or Chiang Mai Airport is at 12:00, and we recommend flights arrive no later than noon. Upon arrival, guests settle into their cozy home-away-from-home and are welcomed with an engaging session to learn how to say Hello and Thank-you in Thai. Each guest receives a personalized welcome gift, embroidering their names in Thai script on a locally made community bag to promote sustainable travel. The afternoon begins with a visit to a local farm or orchard to meet a farmer, learn about traditional agriculture, and collect fresh vegetables and Thai herbs that will be used to prepare dinner. Guests then make a traditional Thai massage ball with a local community-based tourism group. Free time is available to relax, kick a football, help in the kitchen, or enjoy an optional massage using the handmade massage ball. In the evening, the village dance troupe performs a special welcome dance, giving guests the opportunity to learn traditional Thai dance moves before enjoying a community-prepared dinner.

Day 2 Sidecar Adventures & Sweet Traditions

Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

On Day 2, breakfast is served before setting off on a motorbike sidecar adventure to explore the local reservoir and the local community. Stops include the Royal Fisheries Project to observe fish nurseries that support local villagers. Guests then visit a local village aunty who guides them step-by-step in making Kanom Kee Maew, a traditional Thai dessert. Lunch is provided by the local community-led tourism group. The adventure continues with a visit to a local cocoa farm to make chocolate, with a stop at the local market on the way home to pick up fresh coconuts and local snacks (subject to availability). The evening is spent relaxing, playing sports, helping to prepare a BBQ, and enjoying a communal dinner.

Day 3 Sacred Threads & Farewell

Includes Breakfast, Lunch

The third and final day begins with an optional visit to a local Buddhist temple to make merit, followed by breakfast at the hotel. Guests then enjoy a hands-on weaving workshop with Aunty Aree, experiencing all six stages of preparing, spinning, and weaving cotton. A visit to a local family restaurant for authentic noodle soup concludes the cultural experience. The program finishes with a return to Chiang Mai City in the early afternoon. For those departing the same day, we recommend flights leaving after 15:00.

Please note that while we aim to deliver the program as described, life in local communities is dynamic. Unexpected events such as funerals or important Buddhist ceremonies may require activity substitutions. Flexibility is appreciated to ensure guests still have meaningful and enjoyable experiences. Due to limited accommodation (maximum of 2 houses), a 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.
