A Day in an Elephant’s Life is a fantastic opportunity for animal lovers to get up close and personal with these enchanting creatures. Furthermore, the emphasis is very much on learning with an insight into the farm’s conservation work.

The knowledgeable, helpful staff of the farm welcome everybody and introduce the life of the farm, detailing what taking care of the elephants entails. They will also inform on the organisation’s history and provide details of its conservation efforts.

The main task for the day is to assist with the healthcare checks of the elephants. Accompany staff as they inspect each elephant to make sure they have a clean bill of health, paying particular attention to pregnant mothers and young babies as you learn all about the farm’s breeding programme.

As part of the health inspection, elephants need exercise just like humans. Accompany the elephants as they walk to the water to take a refreshing dip. The similarities to humans continue as elephants are partial to a bit of pampering. So, the next step is to bathe the elephants and give their skin a good old scrub. Take the time here to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Observe the majestic creatures in their natural habitat and witness real familial interaction between the elephants.

Rejuvenated and replenished from a dip in the water and transfixed by the charm of these friendly giants, it’s time to head back to the centre, again walking beside the elephants.  The trip will conclude soon, so please feel free at this point to further question the expert guides and mine them for knowledge on all things elephant.

Before ending the day, visitors will have the chance to plant a seed in a very unique way. By feeding a seed to an elephant which will pass through, and later, grow in the nutrient-rich elephant poo, regenerating the biodiversity of the surrounding environment.

There is no riding of the elephants on the trip – the emphasis is solely on education, and it is therefore suitable for any ages – couples, adults, or families with children. The trip can either be scheduled in the morning or in the afternoon, lasts around five hours, and includes round-trip transportation.
